The web has been created to set up communications between individuals and has also been used to create a state of conversation between others who have never met each other. A large social networking website as described by wikipedia.com as a place where user-submitted network of friends, personal profiles, blogs, groups, photos, music and videos for teenagers and adults internationally. And in doing so you create a virtual self. In creating this visual self you set up a second life based off any information that can be put on these networking sites. Myspace, facebook, friendster are all different sites that allow the user to create page that shows what they feel represents them.

The creation of this second self shows that you can either over emphasis your main interests and personality through music, image and text. This set of virtual self really has nothing to do with your life but just puts you into the web. Its mass connection brings you to everyone that has a similarity with you. Another game that has become a large craze that is customizable is also called world of warcraft.

 These game and networks are all created a realm where individuals can get past actual self but can meet through a system of virtual self. With the access to creation of self through the network system, there is also a down side to this idea. The creation of self can be a fake self or an imaginary self. Individuals can create fraudulent site using images and information that can be nothing like them at all. It could be an older man being a young beautiful female that is acting as a sex offender. Or a younger female that says she is actually much older than she really is and puts false information on her site or virtual self. This is another example of a virtual self but modified for the wrong use of the net.

 The virtual self can take its own shape through these networks and can actually improve ones self threw these clicks or groups of friends. There are also applications that are apart of facebook and myspace that are also extensions of a virtual self like mobsters or vampires. Which is an extension of self through an extension of self. You reach levels and change constantly through missions and networking. The more you network your digital health the more you gain.

 Though this digital life and virtual self as a viewer you can act as if your life is an extension of life in a digital world. This digital world can in reverse have an effect on ones standings in a real life. Tila Tequila was is a person on myspace that created and generated income based off of her virtual self. The creation of this virtual self has as much power and an effect on a person as is shown in reality. If there are images represented on your page that can be negative like being drunk or nudity and inappropriate behavior and en employer, family member or peers see them. It may cause negative actions in real life like being fired. These sets of virtual self are very powerful and have a great effect on self and views of self.

The interaction of people has changed from face to face interaction to picture to picture. The loss of this physical interaction through a small group of people that may know you to a large group of people that will get to know your virtual self. Also the communication of individuals can create a form to meet outside of the web but users should beware of a fraud self. The net has create many different ways for an individual to create a self that they feel represent them to how they view themselves.
